One of the more nuanced things that a lot of men never think about is what textures are appropriate for which seasons. This isn’t a make-or-break type situation but it can make clothing more comfortable and look better depending on the time of year. Just like tweed is appropriate during Autumn and Winter, materials like seersucker and linen are what’s best for late Spring and Summer.
A good pair with linen is chambray. It looks a lot like denim but is softer and cooler on the skin.
Because it looks more like denim it’s another good High/Low material. You can pair it with a linen jacket like this and look both relaxed and refined almost anywhere. I have a chambray shirt and it sees regular rotation during the warmer months.
